THE SEARCH BEGINS
When the 36 finalists arrive in Los Angeles to meet with Tyra, Jay and J., everyone is ecstatic to be there, but conflict quickly arises between the girls when personalities clash. Some of the girls are confident they're going to make it, while others aren't sure if they're right for the modeling world. In the end, Tyra is the one who makes that decision with two cuts: one down to 20 girls, and finally, to the 13 who will still be in the running towards becoming America's Next Top Model.

Episode 2: The Girls Become Superheros

PRETTY DOESN'T CUT IT: ASHLEY FIRST OUT
After a tour of Los Angeles, the girls get down to business with their first public runway show at a party hosted by Life & Style magazine. Later, when they take on their first photo shoot, posing as super heroes while being suspended from a high wire, some girls struggle with their airborne poses. In the end, Ashley, the 22-year-old boutique buyer from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Sarah, the 18-year-old fragrance counter representative from Boonville, Missouri, are up for elimination, and Ashley is sent home because it takes more than just a pretty face to be a Top Model.

Episode 6: The Girl Who Loves Bubbles and Talks to Plants

CORYN'S SADNESS SENDS HER HOME
This week's challenges involve a triple whammy: doing a commercial shoot, a photo shoot and an on-camera interview all in one day. While some of the girls excel despite lower expectations, both Coryn, the 19-year-old retail clerk from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Nik, the 21-year-old office coordinator from Atlanta, Georgia, have a tough time handling the pressure. When they end up standing before Tyra and the panel at judging, Coryn is eliminated because her sadness would hold her back in the world of modeling.

Episode 8: The Girl Whose Boyfriend Is Cheating on Her

"WE'RE GOING TO LONDON!"
This week brings more complex challenges to the girls, encouraging them to interact with an entourage and step up their versatility and confidence in uncertain situations. In the end, Jayla and Nicole are the two who stand before the judges, but Tyra shocks them all by announcing that not only is no one going home, but everyone will be heading to their international destination: London, England.

Episode 12: The Girl on the Cover

NICOLE WINS IT ALL
After a stress-filled day of shooting a CoverGirl commercial and print ad, Bre is the first of the top three to be cut. That leaves the catwalk clear for Nik and Nicole to make their debut during a Gharani Strok fashion show, and both are fierce as they strut down the runway. The judges' decision is a tough one, but in the end, Nicole is chosen over Nik to become America's Next Top Model. "This is the beginning of something great for me," Nicole says. "My life is beginning right now: Nicole's life as a CoverGirl!"
